You all know by now that I have an obsession with jeans, but what you don’t know is where this obsession started.

Back in 2001, I worked in the city for a company called Fisher Price. One day at work, I was in the kitchen when the Director of Marketing walked in wearing the most gorgeous jeans I had ever seen! The wash was amazing and the fit was perfection. I asked her the name of the brand and she told me - 7 for All Mankind.

What was 7 for All Mankind and where did designer jeans come from? The only jeans I wore were Gap and Levi’s!

As soon as I got back to my desk, I googled 7 for All Mankind and was shocked at the price tag - $100 for jeans! What could make these jeans so amazing that they were worth $100? I had to find out for myself, so off to Bloomingdales I went!

As soon as I tried them on, I understood why the high price tag. The fit was amazing and the wash was like nothing I had ever seen before. I took my bonus check that year and purchased my first pair of designer jeans!

Since that time, many more designer brands have come to fruition, each one better and more expensive than the next. It really is so crazy how much designer jeans cost at this point but I can tell you this - I’m still paying it! I am a jeans girl through and through, and there is nothing better than a perfectly fitted pair of quality denim!

My favorite designer brands are 7 for All Mankind, Joe’s Jeans, AG Jeans and Mother. You can find most of these brands discounted at Nordstrom Rack or Saks Off 5th, so it’s a great way to try the brand without breaking the bank!

The good news is that over the years, affordable denim brands have caught on and upped their game. There are many great affordable options but sometimes the quality is inconsistent. Try to find your favorite style in these brands so you know what to expect. My favorite affordable denim brands are Levi’s, Articles of Society and Express Jeans.

What do you think? Are Jeans worth the Splurge? Leave me a comment below!
