Pumpkins & Plaid
Out of all the fall months, October is one of my favorites. I love going pumpkin and apple picking and decorating the house for Fall. Although Fall technically starts at the end of September, October is really the beginning of Fall to me.
Growing up in Brooklyn, when my family wanted a pumpkin, we went to the store to buy one. Once I moved to Long Island, we went to the pumpkin patch to “pick” pumpkins.
I remember my first time pumpkin picking with my husband. I was so disappointed that I wasn’t picking the pumpkins off of the vine. The picture above showcases a typical pumpkin patch on Long Island. I guess you get to technically pick your pumpkin by choosing one off the ground but it is not exactly what I had in mind!
Nonetheless, the kids still love pumpkin picking, and it is always a fun day taking photos in the patch, with the tractor or even with the Halloween signage.
This past Sunday, we visited the pumpkin patch and I just knew I had to come back to take some photos with my new fall outfit. Pumpkins & Plaid - can you get more Fall than that?
While in the patch, I decided to have a little fun and jump on the tractor myself! Why let the kids have all the fun!
Now I have my pumpkins and photos and I’m all set for Fall! Next up is figuring out everyone’s Halloween costumes! Any suggestions?
