Lots of Layers
One of the best ways to dress for the winter is in layers. As easy as it may be to just throw on that bulky winter coat, layers are ideal to put on and take off throughout the day. The hardest part of layers is wearing enough to stay warm without looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!
The first layer should be fitted, which will keep your body warm and also helps with the bulkiness factor. For my current look, I went with a basic black ribbed sweater. From there, you can add a cardigan or a chunky knit sweater as your second layer. If you are going to go with a cardigan, I recommend wearing a scarf that will keep your chest and neck area warm. Your final layer all depends on the outdoor temperature. I love how a leather jacket looks with layers but if it is freezing out, grab that winter coat!
You can play around with your layers and create different looks each time, which is a great way to keep your wardrobe fresh. Scroll down to the bottom for some basic layering pieces.
